Have a fairy and sporting Christmas in Val Thorens

To properly celebrate Christmas, the ski resort of Val Thorens has planned colourful activites! The youngest ones will marvel thanks to Xmas illuminations and decorations, whereas the grown-ups will have the chance to take part in a ski race with lots of prizes.

Christmas activities and shows in Val Thorens

From 24th December, Santa Claus Village will be open in order that everyone can immerse themselves in year's end celebration magic and savour some sweets. Once the night falls, ski instructors will enlighten the slopes during the traditional descent with torches, before Santa Claus arrives in the village. It will be the perfect opportunity to enjoy a hot chocolate or a glass of Suze with family, friends or in a couple. Then, it will be time for Santa Claus to leave but the show will go on with a pyrotechnics show, delighting kids as well as adults.

In order that Christmas spirit don't leave the resort too soon, other activites will take place the following days:

  • Kids will have the chance to ski down the slopes with torches on 26th December at 6 pm to floodlight the resort (do not forget to register to Val Thorens' ski school - 10 € for each child). It will be a magical moment for your children, who will then be rewarded with a hot chocolate and brioches, so they can end the day on a sweet note!
  • On Thursday 27th December, a free show will be offered to children: "Monsieur Lune" ("Mister Moon") will relate tales that will enchant them.

And of course, other shows and activites will occur throughout Christmas holidays, in order that young winter sports lovers keep good memories of their stay in the resort.

Take part in the ski cross race!

After attending enchanting performances, let's do sport! On Wednesday 26th December, the Fight Ski Club organises a ski cross race, on Jean-Frédéric Chapuis stadium. The goal is quite simple: be the fastest skier on this course made up of obstacles and tight bends to win the competition! There is no doubt that you will feel thrills, and you will also have the opportunity to be rewarded if you take your place in the podium.

The race is reserved for very good skiers (Gold Star Level), because the discipline demands technical skills, precision and speed. If you want to rent appropriate equipment, think about booking at Eskiador! You can stack all the odds in your favour by choosing technical skis from black category or top-of-the-range designs from diamond category, as well as Performance boots, offering comfort, reactivity and precision.
